Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting are bringing back Art the Clown this fall. On November 8, Terrifier 2 will receive a theatrical re-release. It will come with “several surprises,” although no details were given on whether they will be additional scenes, post-credit scenes, or extended cuts of scenes in the original release. This comes a few months after the announcement that a third film of the hit slasher is in the making.
Terrifier 2 Theatrical Re-Release Comes with “Several Surprises”
Bloody Disgusting made the original announcement that Terrifier 2 is getting a re-release. In this, the outlet got a statement from director and writer Damien Leone, who said that the decision to splash fans with more blood came down to a “thank you” for the support, which led to the decision to bring it back in theaters “where it belongs.”
Horror movies have made a killing during a time in which overall theater attendance is down. Due to low budgets, these films can make back their money and more. Terrifier 2 was made with a $250,000 budget. It grossed $15 million worldwide, surpassing its 2016 predecessor’s $416,000 box office run. While the sequel was nowhere near the top-grossing horror movies of last year, it surprised the industry with how much of a profit it turned. Horror fans and headlines about people vomiting caught enough attention for people to check it out on the big screen.
The Terrifier 2 re-release will deliver another chance to see its stars survive or get slaughtered by its antagonist, played by David Howard Thornton. Lauren LaVera led as a new addition to the Final Girl club as she must protect her younger brother (Eliott Fullam) from the vicious clown. She was joined by Terrifier star Samantha Scaffidi and wrestler Chris Jericho.
Keep an eye out for where Terrifier 2 will play during its theatrical re-release on November 8. The film is also streaming on Screambox.
