A video has been posted to the social media platform TikTok that features an unknown man stumbling up a set of stairs in a Louisiana apartment building and then walking into a random unit, allegedly with a master key.
The video sparked a lot of controversy online, with some commenters bringing up the story of Miya Marcano as a similar example, with one person writing, “Please look up Miya Marcano and her story and bring it to your apartments attention. This should never happen again!!“
In the video, you can see the perpetrator reaching into a pocket and procuring what was likely the key to the apartment before letting himself in. Almost immediately after being noticed by the two women who were inside, he was asked to leave, and the police were called.
According to a comment by the original poster, the man was not a part of building maintenance or security.
In a second video that adds more context, the caption even reads,”You hear my girlfriend asking the man how he was able to walk in on us he stated he walk & just open the door ! No sir you knew Excatly what you was doing that’s why he left that key in the door all he kept saying is I’m gone I’m gone and proceeded to walk down the stairs with no hesitation !“
In that same video, a TikTok user left a comment concerning the outcome of the events, with the original creator responding with, “No let him go the same night !”
Reactions to Louisiana Man Walking Into a Random Apartment
Commenters were shocked that a person who has no affiliation with an apartment complex could have a master key to the units. Some even likened the situation to that of Miya Marcano, a college student who went missing from her apartment, with one user writing, “This is exactly what happened to Miya Marciano…“
Other comments were a bit more lighthearted, with another person writing, “This why our mamas get mad when we lose the key 😭.”
However, a great majority of users offered advice for securing your home to avoid situations like this happening, with one person writing, “Yall need a door stopper,” and another saying, “First rule to living in an apartment I don’t care what your lease say change the lock.”
Currently, the video’s virality is bringing in more users to the comments, and the original creator is still answering questions concerning the event.
