It’s already infuriating to many, knowing that their hard-earned tax dollars are going to very poor causes led by the White House, but now Texas has itself on blast, no small thanks to the state’s attorney general. Of all the problems that could be focused on, Trump supporter Ken Paxton decided that the best use of Texan taxpayer money is a lawsuit against the makers of Tylenol. You heard right: a far-right politician is suing Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue over President Trump’s tin foil hat theory that the medication causes autism.
While there is no credible data that offers evidence that Tylenol is connected to autism, it’s one of the many delusional crazes that has Republicans and Trump supporters distracted as the country falls apart. Kenvue is not backing down against this political pressure, saying: “We will defend ourselves against these baseless claims and respond per the legal process,” per ABC News. “That’s a genetic disorder. This has to be a joke lol,” remarks a commenter. But unfortunately, it’s not, as the oppressive administration in DC continues to interfere in the private sector. At this point, it wouldn’t be surprising if Trump came out with his own painkiller medication brand to compete with Tylenol.
Besides those who follow whatever their Republican leaders tell them, many people are not happy with the Texas attorney general’s decision. “Clown wastes more Texas taxpayer money to prove he’s a moron,” exclaims a Reddit user. “He’s running for the Senate. It’s just to show what a good MAGA boy he is. It’s campaigning with tax dollars,” added another. Some even believe the Tylenol makers should countersue the government, as all the defamation and baseless claims are a big issue at this point.
Regardless of whether he wins or not, Texas’s Ken Paxton’s lawsuit is an excellent example of how tax dollars are wasted if a corrupt candidate is put into office.
