Texas Comedian Says United Crew Destroyed Her Joke Book by Moving Her Backpack While She Slept: ‘You Got a Special Place in Hell’

Tea was spilled

A comedian based in Texas woke up to her worst nightmare possible: her joke book was completely ruined. According to her, while on a flight, one United Airlines crew member moved her backpack without telling her, leading to a major tea spillage situation that trashed the book and also reached her laptop and headphones.

The comedian in question is Tatum Villalpando- Raley, whose username is cactustate. She is a very popular content creator whose posts revolve around her situational, sarcastic, and sketch comedy. The clip attached above quickly went viral, garnering 1.1 million views, 169,000 likes, and over 3,000 comments.

A visibly upset and tearful Tatum began telling what had occurred while on a flight with United Airlines. The Texas woman said that, at the time, she was sleeping with her backpack placed between her legs. Fully aware she was not supposed to do that, she figured someone would wake her up to tell her to place her backpack in the overhead bin.

Spilling The Tea

However, that didn’t happen.

“Instead, they just grabbed my bag, and they put it in the overhead bin without taking my tea out of the side, and it spilled all over my laptop, all over my headphones, all over my wallet, all over my vape,” Tatum said.

What actually brought the comedian to tears was that the tea had also spilled all over her joke book. Of course, for someone whose career is telling jokes for a living, having your ideas destroyed via tea is not funny at all. Conversely, Tatum said that it wasn’t that the ruined joke book was of particular value to her. She was just disappointed in how United reacted when she confronted them about it, telling her there was nothing they could do.

“United, you got a special place in hell for ruining my joke book,” the Texas woman said. “I don’t even care about my computer. You [expletive] up my joke book!“

Texas Reacts

The video sparked multiple responses, mostly from viewers angry at United over the ruined joke book and the reported lack of accountability. One said, “You should NEVER touch someone else’s personal belongings… Ever.” Another commented, “4.4 million people waiting for United to make this right.”

Others decided to pun the Texas woman’s incident to keep things lighthearted. One wrote, “At least your jokes aren’t too dry.” Finally, some told her to escalate the incident, with one saying, “They have to reimburse. Call corporate. It’s a federal law.”

Tatum has not posted an update. United, meanwhile, has not addressed the incident, even though its socials have been flooded with angry comments over this and past incidents involving the airline.
