A video has surfaced on TikTok featuring Zul Mohammed, a former Carrollton, Texas, mayoral candidate, who claims he does not support the US Military or the United States as a whole. The shocking video caught the attention of many citizens, who shared it on other platforms, including Facebook, X, and Instagram. Commenters quickly shared their frustrations with Mohammed across various comment sections, with many flocking to the original post to better understand the situation.
The video in question features Mohamed speaking to a group of people who appear to be arguing with the former mayoral candidate. Mohammed has been accused of alleged voter fraud in the past, with him even appealing the convictions rendered against him in two of those cases.
Someone offscreen can be heard referring to United States Army veterans before Mohammed cuts him off with his own belief, saying, “No vet has made any sacrifice. I want to make that clear. I do not support the US military. No, I do not support the United States. I look down on both entities. I want to make that clear.”
Members of the crowd could be heard gasping at the shocking revelation. He is then asked a similar question, where he again makes his stance clear. The camera then pivots to someone in the audience, surprised, looking at Mohamed, his mouth hanging open as he records the former mayoral candidate.
Users who shared their opinions in the comments section weren’t happy with Mohammed’s statement, and many condemned him outright.
Reactions to Zul Mohammed Claiming Not to Support US Veterans
Even though various comments expressed frustration at Mohammed’s opinion, others were more confused. One reply read, “Wait he’s trying to become a senator but doesn’t support the United States?“
Other commenters simply pointed out the irony in Mohammed’s statement, with one person writing, “The only reason you’re not being dragged off, beating to death and thrown in a ditch someplace is because vets have protected your right to free speech.” In a similar vein, a different commenter wrote, “Bold thing to say in Texas my guy.“
During the 2020 general election for Mayor of Carolltown, Zul Moohamed lost against Kevin Falconer with only 6,540 total votes. In October of that same year, he was arrested and charged with 25 counts of Unlawful Possession of Ballot/Ballot Envelope w/o Request of Voter, all second-degree felonies, and 84 counts of Fraudulent Use of Mail Ballot Application, all third-degree felonies.
Currently, as the video continues to go viral online, more and more people are leaving their frustrations in the comments section below.
