After showing the little girl describing what allegedly happened to her, the father added a clip of himself appearing emotional. “She’s only five years old,” he said. “Y’all raising perverts and the school protecting them,” he then added. The father explained that he learned about the situation after his daughter’s mother called him and said that a little boy was touching their daughter at school. The father’s comments reflected his allegations about how the school handled the situation. It has not been independently established that school officials protected the other student or acted improperly in responding to the reported incident.
The father added that they could not speak to the child or the child’s parents, although it is unclear why they were not allowed to do so. The principal said, “I was following back up with you after our conversation earlier today. Um, I wanted to set up a meeting with Karen Graves, our title 9 coordinator, on Tuesday at 10:30 am. I’m gonna go ahead and hold that time. If that time doesn’t work, please call me back and let me know, and we’ll find a time that works for everyone. Thank you. Bye bye.”
The beginning of the voicemail sounded like a normal message, but the principal apparently did not realize the phone was still recording. In the rest of the voicemail, she could be heard laughing at the parents and calling them “crazy.”
The principal then said, “When parents are crazy, my sympathetic voice kind of goes away,” while speaking to another person. She could then be heard laughing during the conversation. The other person in the room appeared to agree, saying, “No, I agree.”
The principal then said, “Okay. Called. Left voicemail. Alright, noted,” before continuing to speak with the other person about unrelated matters. The video then ended. Alongside the video, the father wrote in the caption, “So yeah this actually happened right after her mom called and took the right steps.”
The father later shared another video thanking people online who had offered him advice. In the caption, he wrote, “Tuesday is the #title9violation meeting with Principal Heather Myers. The MANDATED REPORTERS broke character and I honestly don’t know if I can trust the people in place to protect our kids in Houston.” The father’s reference to a “Title IX violation” reflects his characterization of the dispute.
