Customers in San Antonio, Texas, are accusing a female employee at Verizon of threatening to call ICE on them following a dispute inside the store.

The customers shared additional background about the dispute at the Verizon store. One of them alleged that they had gone to the location with their mother to trade in their phones. According to their account, the employee involved had an unpleasant attitude during the interaction, which led their mom to ask, “Why she had to be so rude?”

According to the customers’ account, the employee then “snapped” at them and said she did not like what had happened the previous time their mom visited the location. The customer explained that their mom had allegedly experienced a prior issue at the same store. They further claimed that the employee began yelling at them to leave the store before allegedly banning their mother from returning.

The customers claimed that the situation escalated further as they were leaving the store. According to their account, the employee shouted, “I hope you have the day you deserve,” as they walked out. The customer alleged that their mother responded, “I am going to have a wonderful day, unlike you because you seem so bitter.” They further claimed that the employee then yelled after them, “AND JUST WITH THAT ACCENT, YOU SHOULD BE TAKEN BY ICE.”

The customer made it clear that they viewed the alleged ICE remark made as a threat. “To ME. That is a threat. I HAVE A WITNESS TO WHAT SHE SAID,” they wrote while describing the incident online. They later also claimed that they reported the store for what allegedly occurred during the confrontation.

In addition to the written allegations, the customer also shared a video recorded during the aftermath of the dispute at the Verizon store. In the clip, the customer asks a man nearby whether he heard the employee make the alleged ICE comment. The man responds by confirming that he heard the employee say the same remark the customers described.

The customer then went back inside the store and asked the employee for her name. According to the video, the employee responded by yelling at the customer and repeatedly telling her to leave the store. She also refused to provide her name. At one point, the employee can be heard saying, “I don’t give a [expletive].”

The customer remained inside the store and repeatedly demanded to know the employee’s name. The employee, however, continued refusing to provide it. When the customer asked her to repeat the alleged ICE comment, the employee declined as well. At one point, the employee can be heard saying, “Go before I call the cops.” The video ended with the customer telling the employee that she intended to report the store over the incident.

Outrage Online Following Alleged Actions of Texas Verizon Employee

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers expressed outrage on behalf of customers in Texas following allegations involving a Verizon employee. One person wrote, “Racism is live and well. Sickening.” Others encouraged customers to review the store and share their experiences publicly online. One commenter said, “You can also review them on google. Make sure your experience comes up every time someone googles that location.”

Several viewers also said they hoped the employee would face consequences over the alleged remarks. One commenter wrote, “Yknow whats [expletive] up for Verizon. That woman could cost them a LOT of money with her racist behaviours. Whats worse, you can tell by the recorder’s voice that she’s either born stateside or at minimum assimilated very very well. Hope that employee gets the can.”

The video sparked widespread outrage online, with many viewers expressing dissatisfaction over the employee’s alleged comments and calling for accountability following the incident.
