Gill pointed to Talarico’s remarks about God being non-binary and accused him of focusing on transgender children.
He also claimed Talarico wanted to reopen the southern border. Gill said Texans would see him as someone “lying through his teeth” to win their votes. He closed by saying voters were “sick of this kind of stuff.”

Others dismissed the broader culture-war approach. “All you people have is ‘TrAnS pEoPlE bAd’ its old, give it up and talk about real issues…” one response stated. Another wrote, “i haven’t heard this third tier ex-banker talk about policy a single time.”
Some responses agreed with Gill’s criticism of Talarico. “Talarico will say anything! I’ve never heard such nonsense from a politician. Flip flop, flip flop we go!” one user wrote. Another stated, “He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He’s not for Texas.”
