A woman in Dallas, Texas, decided to bring some goldfish home after the previous owner shared that she was going to flush them down the toilet. Despite her selfless act of saving the fish, she shocked her own daughter due to their size, with them being labeled as “monsters.”
TikToker user Miissmonii (Moni) shared the hilarious moment online. She often shares a variety of content, including food, travel, and lifestyle. The clip attached above, however, quickly became her biggest one ever, garnering 4.6 million views, 563,100 likes, and more than 15,000 comments.
The Texas woman recorded her mother arriving with a plastic bag filled with water and three goldfish. She explained that her mother had met a lady at a local PetSmart who owned the fish but “didn’t want them anymore.” To prevent a toilet flush, Moni’s mother decided to adopt the three and bring them home.
The only issue was that, to Moni’s shock, the goldfish were huge.
“These are not goldfish. These are monsters,” she said. “Do you see how big these are? These things are ridiculous.”
Worst of all, the mother and daughter already owned a significant number of fish in a container. Moni showed the significant difference in size, laughing at how ridiculous the whole thing was.
“Time to get a bigger tank. A bigger trough,” Moni concluded, all while her mother contemplated and wondered how all her fish were going to coexist.
Giant Fish Cause Giant Response
The video sparked multiple responses.
Some viewers, shocked by the goldfish’s size, asked very valid questions. Referring to what the PetSmart lady said, one person asked, “What kind of toilet she got?” Another one commented, “Separate tank?!?! They need a separate house.”
Others, playfully, believed that the newer, bigger fish were just going to eat the old, smaller ones. One viewer wrote, “You cannot put them with the littles.” Another one added, “She’s about to have three fish.”
In a follow-up clip, Moni showed the current state of all her fish. Fortunately for everyone involved, the three giant goldfish and the rest of her aquatic pets were living in harmony, to her followers’ delight.
