Better check how much your oven can fit, as more than a turkey will be put there this November. We have a bloody look at the next horror film by Eli Roth, Thanksgiving, which just released its red band trailer, giving us plenty of kills themed after the American holiday (seen below). The slasher will carve up theaters on November 17.
Set in the town that originated the holiday, Plymouth, Massachusetts, a Black Friday goes wrong. A riot breaks out, leading to bloodshed in a local store. Now, someone has been inspired for unknown reasons to start cutting up citizens of Plymouth, with some specific young targets in mind.
Eli Roth Prepares for Thanksgiving Feast With Red Band Trailer of New Horror Film
IGN originally revealed the official trailer, which comes weeks after a teaser had been released. This has given us a closer look at the kills, plot, and the cast. The film will star Rick Hoffman (Suits), Gina Gershon (New Amsterdam), Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy), Milo Manheim (School Spirits), Addison Rae (He’s All That), Karen Cliche (Saw VI), Nell Verlaque (Big Shot), and Jalen Thomas Brooks (Walker).
The film originated from a short Grindhouse project by the Hostel director in 2007. After all these years, he has finally been able to give it the feature-length treatment. He directed this take and co-wrote it with Jeff Rendell, who also co-wrote the Grindhouse short.
The Thanksgiving red band trailer shows fans of Eli Roth that he is back to his roots with gore and gruesome, creative kills. While known for the Hostel movies, The Green Inferno, and Cabin Fever, he has branched out over his career. Next year, we will see him on his biggest platform with the adaptation of the popular looter shooter Borderlands, with a roster of major stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Cate Blanchett.
