Each skill tree in Type Soul offers abilities with unique strengths and weaknesses, but Kendo is arguably the best. This skill tree emphasizes swordplay above all else, and it brings a fearsome repertoire to PvP. Built right, you’ll be able to give every Quincy, Hollow, and Shinigami something to sweat about. Type Soul Kendo Build Guide
The best Kendo build has a lot in common with the best Soul Reaper build in Type Soul for good reason. Soul Reaper is a top-tier user of this skill tree. Although Arrancar also uses Kendo well, Soul Reapers arguably do it better. That’s largely because of how flexible Shinigami are and how easy it is to adapt Kendo to different roles with this race. A Quincy Kendo build is doable, but you’re better off sticking with either the Shinigami or Hollow for this one.
With the race question settled, it’s time to think about weapons, Shikai, and Bankai. The Longsword and Katana are both great options for Kendo. Not only do both serve well on their own, but they also pair well with the new Theater ability. Blood and Flame work well here too, and depending on your playstyle, you might even want to explore other Shikai. Just pretend you’re Mayuri Kurotsuchi and experiment! Kendo vs. Speed
Kendo offers superior skill boxes compared to Speed in Type Soul. Kendo also offers more guard-breaking moves. Still, Speed has the advantage over Kendo in other areas. While the Kendo skill tree is ideal for 1v1s, Speed is better when battling multiple opponents at once. That balance gives Kendo the edge in PvP, which is probably what you’re most worried about if you’re optimizing. As long as you’re okay with the relative lack of AoE abilities, Kendo won’t disappoint. It’s also wise to get Vizard since it will offer some essential stat buffs. I know, I know: Soul Reapers are hogging all the best stuff. Well, if you can’t beat ’em, join the Soul Society.
