One of Palworld‘s many advantages against other similar games about catching battle pets is that it’s partly a survival game. Like many survival games, it’s highly malleable; because apart from being in its early access phases, Palworld, as with other survival games, already has a promising modding community. To enhance your experience, here are our picks for the best Palworld mods.
Play as Misty
It was only a matter of time. The Play as Misty mod is great if you want to make Palworld even more familiar or trick your five-year-old cousin into playing the new game with you that involves pocket monsters. This skin-change mod should ease them into it.
That is until they start asking where the yellow lightning rat is. But at the very least, you get to produce some interesting gaming clips or evoke some laughter and humor, especially from strangers.
Enhanced Palworld Visuals
Palworld is bound to improve even more as time goes by, but if you can’t wait, then the Enhanced Palworld Visuals mod should give a good glimpse of its final visual form. The mod doesn’t change much (nothing too crazy like ray tracing), just some fog and bloom removal.
Depth of field implementation is also overhauled, and you get an overall sharper game that displays its graphical strength in full view. Since it mostly disables a few post-processing effects, the mod can potentially improve performance while also enhancing visuals. Just don’t crank up the resolution too much.
Ghibli Style Preset
Here’s a different take on visual enhancement. Turns out Palworld‘s general aesthetic and character models are good candidates for the Ghibli treatment. Hence, the Ghibli Style Preset is one of the best Palworld mods out there right now.
It makes the color palette more vibrant and warmer. It is nothing too extensive, so you shouldn’t expect it to overhaul character models or landscapes. This is mostly a ReShade Preset, and in certain spots, it makes the dark shading less annoying.
Game Tweaks
Customization options in Palworld‘s servers are a little too conservative for now (though that will likely change in the near future). For the time being, you can resort to Palworld mods like Game Tweaks.
It lets you modify a bunch of metrics such as rare Pal spawn rate, health and hunger, weight, respawn time, and even stats. You can thus treat it like a cheat mod or an easy mode, depending on how you use it.
PlayStation Button Prompts
Speaking of gameplay tweaks, this PlayStation Button Prompts mod should make your life easier if you’re using a DualSense or DualShock controller. It merely changes the icons from Xbox buttons to PS5 to help you with tutorials better.
Given enough time and luck, you might not need this mod in the future, but it’s your best bet for now until the developers add PC version recognition for PlayStation controllers.
Toggle HUD Mod
If you ever wanted to hide Palworld‘s placeholder UI, then this mod has your back. The Toggle HUD Mod is almost mandatory for minimalism and for taking screenshots.

How To Get Bones in PalworldAt the moment, Palworld‘s UI is quite cluttered and even all over the place, as expected from an early access title. You can just press F9 after installing this mod to hide the UI, but this mod is prone to crashes, according to the author. Use it at your own risk.
MTPBWY-Palworld
Performance issues are standard in an early access title, but with mods like MTPBWY-Palworld, you can smoothen out the bumpy ride a bit while waiting for updates. The mod’s author also worked on a similar mod for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor.
Moreover, the mod is originally for Jedi Survivor, so the author also listed a bunch of mod controls that don’t work for Palworld. It’s worth a shot alone if you’re having performance issues with the game. You can delete it as easily as you installed it in case it doesn’t work.
Remove Pal Revive Timer
This is a cheat mod that might eventually become unnecessary in the future, depending on how the game gets balanced. Because in Palworld‘s current version, it takes 10 minutes to revive a Pal. That’s a really long wait, especially in multiplayer.
The Remove Pal Revive timer mod does away with that. This way, you can experiment more, especially since the game doesn’t have a heavy or overarching story yet. Also, a word of warning: this mod has only been tested to work on single-player.
Remove Flying Stamina Cost
Here’s another cheat mod to make your Palworld run less grindy. The Remove Flying Stamina Cost mod does what it says. This effectively gives you an unlimited bird’s eye view of the whole island.

Does Palworld have crossplay? It’s best to pair this one with the Enhanced Palworld Visuals mod above since that removes the foggy visuals. If anything, the mod also makes the flying Pals more valuable for your playthrough. Hopefully, you won’t need it in the future once gameplay balance changes are implemented.
Local Co-op and Dedicated Server Options
Since you can also catch humans and not just Pals in Palworld, the Local Co-op and Dedicated Server Options mod ought to make your playthrough more fun. Now, you can have more humans to catch. That’s provided you get enough people to join.
The mod lets you increase the maximum player capacity in your local co-op or dedicated server. Since you can bring in more people, the mod also lets you adjust server metrics such as day duration or exp rate so there’s enough for everyone. But who are you kidding? You’re just gonna turn the whole thing into a battle royale, ideally.
