You’re gearing up to hunt some vampires in Redfall, but you can’t decide which character to play as? Redfall is like if Van Helsing and Left 4 Dead had a baby, and that baby grew up to be a gothic, vampire-hunting badass. With four characters, each with unique abilities, it can be tough to know which is the perfect match for your play style. But don’t worry; we’ve compiled a guide to help you make the right choice.
All Redfall Characters and Their Differences
Devinder Crousley
First, we have Devinder Crousley, a ghost hunter by night and an internet celebrity by day. He’s a force to be reckoned with in both game modes. With his Arc Javelin and Translocate abilities, he’s a great attacker. But what tops the cake is his ability to petrify vampires on the move. And if you need to take out some humans, his Black Light skill can stun them for longer.
Jacob Boyer
Jacob Boyer is the Redfall’s characters for you if you prefer to take a more stealthy approach. As someone who can poof into thin air and turn invisible, he’s perfect for solo missions where you must stay hidden. He also has a raven companion that allows him to spot enemies and a sniper rifle you can summon. However, his abilities may not be as helpful in co-op mode, where you’re more likely to engage in open combat.

Layla Ellison
Layla Ellison is not only a science baby but a science baby born from an experiment gone wrong. This uneventful lab mishap gave her powerful telekinesis abilities. She can lift her allies from the ground, making it harder for vampires to deal damage. She also has a vampire friend that she can summon to attack her enemies. However, her umbrella only deflects attacks and doesn’t do much damage while closed. So, while she’s a good choice for single-player and co-op, her abilities may not be as essential as the other Redfall’s characters.
Remedios de la Rosa
Finally, we have Remedios de la Rosa, the exclusive owner of healing powers in Redfall’s characters roster. She can place explosive traps to boom vampires into tiny little pieces. In other words, she’s a one-woman army who can care for herself and her teammates. So, if you want to be the hero of the day, Remedos is the character for you.
In the end, the choice is yours. Each character has its advantages and disadvantages, and it all depends on your playstyle. So, take your time and choose wisely. After all, the fate of Redfall is in your hands.
Redfall is available on PC and Xbox.
