As with previous titles and other looter-based games, there is the best way to farm Legendary items in Diablo 4. Rare Legendary and Unique items provide the best stat buffs and powerful effects for your characters, so you’ll want to grind for them. This is particularly important if you are currently calculating and planning on making builds for your classes. If you want to know the best way to farm Legendaries in Diablo 4, we have you covered.
Diablo 4: The Best Ways to Farm Legendary Items
According to the community, there are four best ways to farm Legendary items in Diablo 4. You can see the list of activities below, which has been ranked by its effectiveness.
1. Complete Nightmare Dungeons
Nightmare Dungeons, which essentially work just like Nephalem Rifts in Diablo 3, give out the most Unique and Legendary items. You will want to tackle Aldurwood, Blind Burrows, and Champion’s Demise at World Tier 3 and 4 for the best payoff. Before entering Nightmare Dungeon, though, you will need Nightmare Sigil, obtained through Whispers of the Dead.
To farm rare items, obviously, you would need to know the fastest way to reset the dungeons. In standard solo play, you have to wait for 60 seconds outside the dungeon after clearing it out to reset it. Meanwhile, if you didn’t finish the whole area, you have to wait for 1 minute 30 seconds or 150 seconds.
However, you can try logging out and then logging in after beating a dungeon. This should put you on a different server and instantly resets the dungeon. The dungeons can also be quickly reset by only killing the first wave of Elite enemies and then exiting them:
- Run any of the Nightmare Dungeons.
- Avoid going too far; stay in the dungeon’s first area.
- Clear out the enemies and the Elites.
- Once done, exit the dungeon using the map by pressing the dungeon entrance on the map.
- Repeat this until they drop the items you want.
Meanwhile, if you are playing online with a Party, you can do this trick instead:
- Open the Social menu.
- Have the Leader leave the Party.
- All party members will automatically exit the dungeon.
- Reenter the dungeon with your party members again, and you should see that it has been fully reset.
2. Clear Out World Events and Bosses
The second activity that you’d want to try to farm Legendary items in Diablo 4 is World Events. Clearing out World Events won’t just reward you with loot but also Murmuring Obols. At the moment, Radiance Field Cemetery in Kyovashad and College of Light in Sanctuary are the recommended Events.
For faster farming, complete the Event and teleport to another area. Afterward, go back to the previous area using the portal. Usually, a new World Event will be generated through this method.
3. Finish Helltide Events
Speaking of Events, Helltide is also a decent way to farm Legendary items in Diablo 4. Finish World Tier 3 to unlock this unique Event, which will spawn tough mobs in the red areas on your map. Defeating them will reward you with Aberrant Cinders to unlock Tortured Gifts of Mysteries, containing rare loot, including Legendaries.
Do keep in mind that Helltide appears every 2 hours and 15 minutes and is considered slower than resetting Dungeons. Nevertheless, if you want to try farming them, Reddit user cloudeightk has pointed out the best locations for it. In the picture below, you’ll want to jump between areas indicated by the blue squares as fast as you can farm loot and Cinders.
4. Spend Murmuring Obols at the Purveyor of Curiosities
In case you’re confident about how lucky you are, you can take a shot at the Purveyor of Curiosities. The vendor sells random items that can be bought with Murmuring Obols. While Legendary items drops are solely up to RNG, Purveyor of Curiosities lets you target specific Aspects. That way, in theory, you can use Obols to farm items in Diablo 4 faster.
