A handful of betas later, and Diablo 4 reviews are out, meaning we have our review roundup to simplify all the reviews coming out for the latest entry of the Blizzard franchise. It has been over a decade since the last installment, which was plagued with technical issues at launch. It took a while, but it got to a respectable state, despite some issues compared to the second game. By going down the games as a service, open-world route, we see critics accepting these changes that accompany the classic feel of the hack-and-slash RPG. Even The Nerd Stash’s David Rodriguez gave it a 5/5, calling it impressive “by the sheer depth and quality of its story and gameplay.”
Blizzard has had major issues in the last year with its hostile work environment. A major portion of the time to develop the game, developers have had to go through the pandemic and push back against abusive people in the workplace. Despite so much going against the people who made Diablo 4, our review roundup shows that the RPG has found its footing. Regardless of how people may view the company, this game shines by expanding its features for a breath of fresh air for a franchise that spans decades. On Metacritic, it is currently holding an 88 on PS5 and 91 on Xbox Series X. For OpenCritic; it is holding an 89.
