The DC Outskirts update for The Division 2 hasn’t dropped yet, but it’s never too early to be thinking about the next game in the series. The next game’s story was likely the mindset on Saturday morning of Tim Spencer.
Tim Spencer, who isn’t your average video game fan, took to Twitter to voice what he wants to see in a potential The Division 3. Spencer, who happens to be a level director at TT Games (Lego games developers), wants to see a single-player follow up.
Spencer even has an idea for the story behind the single-player, story-driven campaign, “focusing on an agent trying to get home to their family after being sent to NYC, during the SHD blackout from the fall of DC.”. Perhaps because he has some connections in the game industry, his tweet got noticed by none other than The Division 2 Creative Director Julian Gerighty.

Gerighty’s simple “thoughts?” quote tweet was all it took to get the social media site off and running. It turns out Spencer is far from the only person who would like the world of The Division 2 to be fleshed out more.
The second game in the series has done a better job of telling the story better than the first. Gerighty’s team has done a good enough job of showing players why they are doing what they’re doing; the game has gained a cult following.
Some players are content looking for Easter Eggs expertly hidden in the background of wartorn Washington, DC. Others would indeed like to see an agent’s private life fleshed out a bit more. Some Twitter users would also like to see the main character have some dialogue rather than stand mute in cut scenes.

The Creative Director noticed the reaction coming from The Division 2 community. Whether or not the sentiments sent his way, steer his next creation is still a very open question.
