The First Descendant is a game that sends you on a long journey to unlock new maps, beat Colossi battles for a simple reward that has a 20% acquisition chance, and search for items that are needles in a haystack. One of these is the secret encrypted vaults that have unmarked locations to find on the map in The First Descendant, and you’d need Precision Code Analyzers to open them.

All Secret Vault Locations on Every Map

An Encrypted Vault in The First Descendant is a kind of statue that is spawned in different locations on almost every map in the game. However, they do not have a set location, and their spawn rate is totally random with the server rotations.

That said, the locations you see in the image above only represent some of the Secret Vault spawn locations. You can go check them, but there’s no 100% guarantee that you find one over on any of them. There might also be a new spawn location that’d pop with server updates.

Now while it’s frustrating that you can not map out all the Encrypted Secret Vault locations in The First Descendant, you should know that there’s a simple method for finding them.

How To Find Encrypted Secret Vaults in The First Descendant

The best way to find a Secret Vault in The First Descendant is by scanning the area. You can do this by pressing the R3/RS button on your controller, and your Descendant will scan for items, loot boxes, and of course, the Encrypted Vaults.

If you’re near one of these vaults, you’ll hear a beep sound while scanning. Follow the noise as it gets louder the more you’re close to the vault. Just remember that the range on the alarm for finding a vault isn’t on high numbers, so you need to be close to hear it. Hence why you need to keep on scanning while running to find one.

Where To Find Code Analyzers

Finding an Encrypted Secret Vault in The First Descendant is one challenge, and opening it is another. Just like most other items in this game that require another item to work, Encrypted Vaults can only be opened with Code Analyzers. And to make things worse, there are 3 types of these analyzers to look for:

• Code Analyzer
• Precision Code Analyzer
• Ultimate-Precision Code Analyzer

You’ll find the basic and Precision Code Analyzers from the random enemy targets in the game. All you need to do is find a mission that involves killing waves of enemies without too much hassle and leg work. The one that we recommend doing is the Anticipated Ambush mission on Sterile Land, where you only have to hold your ground and kick a bunch of Vulgus with your ultimate weapons.

For the Ultra Code Analyzers, however, you’d have to complete the game and put the difficulty on Hard mode to get some. These Analyzers also drop from random targets, so just redo some of the missions on Hard mode and luckily you’ll find some. Keep in mind that this item is obtainable in the normal difficulty as well, but it’d be super rare to find one.
