Despite the latest complaints and drama, Helldivers 2 players still managed to fit democracy in their hearts for the latest battle of Tien Kwan. If you didn’t know, Super Earth summoned every able fighter to pave the surface of this planet with Automaton innards. While many expected this to be another run-of-the-mill operation, it had a bigger objective: restoring mech production facilities in Helldivers 2. And guess what? Any compatriot can land on any planet and find a new combat suit to spread some sweet liberty in the galaxy.

When I heard the developers would control what occurs in the Galactic War, I thought about Joel, the DM, just sending a few modifiers to missions. Color me impressed after the last update. Nerfs aside, it seems the team behind this co-op installment placed mechs in the game and just had players do an operation to unlock them. Correct me if I’m wrong, but what other game does this in a real-time way? I can’t think of one right now. It’s mindblowing how, instead of paying real-life money or grinding for hours, the only price to unlock a new bipedal weapon in the game is laying your life for democracy. Yes, that’s a price I’m willing to pay repeatedly.
Several freedom fighters have already found the long-awaited mechs in Helldivers 2, which are a needed boon for the neverending galactic conflict. Furthermore, the update added many environmental hazards like meteor showers, which have proven to be the bane of many Helldivers’ existence.
Today marks exactly a month after the game’s release date, and its impact on the gaming community has been enormous. The fact that this installment can bring players together to take down foes in a matter of hours is unbelievable. I feel hopeful for the game’s future. While it had a rough launch, things became much smoother with each passing day. Now, the landscape isn’t bleak anymore. Also, there’s a new warbond on the horizon, so there are many reasons to join the fight right now. Just remember to pick the right loadout, invite your best friends, and prepare to take a laser shot to the face in the name of freedom.
