It’s no news that, at least in the latest Natlan patches, many of the characters are not voiced in English. This is still due to the SAG-AFTRA Strike, and many voice actors couldn’t continue working to give life to our favorite characters. In Genshin Impact, some characters are not voiced due to discussions with the Formosa Ocean Post studio. Although this is already a known issue, Genshin Impact leaks show that many characters appearing in the Archon Quest and Lantern Rite will remain unvoiced in Version 5.3.
The fact that the characters do not have voices in important missions dramatically affects the game’s experience. However, this is much worse now because the Archon Quest of 5.3 is reaching one of its highest points. Also, the Lantern Rite is one of the most important events of each year as it celebrates the Lunar New Year. In the leaks, these are the characters that will be participating in Genshin Impact 5.3, divided into the unvoiced and the characters that do speak:

In general, all of Liyue’s characters are very important for the Lantern Rite and their different activities during the event. However, it’s shocking to find out that neither Liyue’s Archon nor government characters like Ganyu, Keqing, or Ningguang speak. Xiao, meanwhile, is another favorite character, and he’s the most anticipated in this event because it features an important moment where he meets again with The Traveler. The worst thing is that Hu Tao won’t have a voice either when she is usually one of the main characters of the Lantern Rite, and this year, she got her own skin.
According to the leaks, the unvoiced characters in the Archon Quest will be Kinich and Iasan. Kinich was one of the first in Natlan to be voiceless, but along with Iasan, they are among the most essential warriors in their nation. Besides, Iasan’s tribe should arrive in the following updates, and her absence of voice work is worrying. Let’s hope the voice actors can soon return to Genshin Impact, right?
