A new year has begun, and Genshin Impact is ready to kick it off with a massive new update. Veteran Travelers already know that this time of the year brings the long-awaited Lantern Rite. However, Version “Luna IV” for Genshin Impact brings even more goodies, including outfits for our Travelers, a new Archon Quest, one of the most highly anticipated playable characters, and a lot more. So, if you are done with all your holiday parties and want to return to your daily grind, now’s the perfect time, as it seems 2026 is going to be a great year for Teyvat.

Genshin Impact Version “Luna IV” Launches on January 14

As usual, here’s the trailer for the upcoming update, in case you missed the Special Program or just want to get hyped again.

The Archon Quest continues, and this time, Il Dottore will play an important role, as he takes the fight to our Travelers and other companions. Speaking of companions, the highly anticipated Columbina will finally be playable and will enhance many Lunar Reactions. She will be the perfect support for many Nod-Krai teams, so you should definitely save your pulls for her if you’ve been collecting all the recent new characters. She will debut during the update’s first phase alongside the rerun of Ineffa.

The next character to debut during this “Luna IV” in Genshin Impact is Zibai, also known as the White Horse Adeptus, for those Liyue lore fans. In terms of combat, she’s all about the new Lunar-Crystallize reaction, and yes, Columbina will also buff this reaction.

Last but not least, we have a new 4-star, Illuga, who will be part of the second phase with Zibai and Neuvillette.

Outside of the chaos unfolding in Nod-Krai, we have a more wholesome event, which is the legendary Lantern Rite. Besides the new story quests, Yaoyao and Neuvillette will don new outfits for the event. The former will be free, while the latter will be available through the shop at a discounted price. Also, while not part of the event, playing through the Archon Quest will unlock new outfits for both Travelers (Aether/Lumine).

In terms of rewards, Version “Luna IV” is full of them. Players will get 1,600 Primogems in their in-game mail, 10 Intertwined Fate through the log-in event, a free 4-star Liyue character from playing the Lantern Rite, and much more. Even Milastra Wonderland is getting updates, such as the new Classic Mode, which will let you invite certain characters.

Genshin Impact Version “Luna IV” is right around the corner, but you still have time to complete everything from the current update. So, dust off that glider and jump back into Teyvat because now’s the perfect time to prepare for what’s to come in Nod-Krai.
