With day 2 of the D23 Expo 2022 underway, fans are being treated to an array of announcements and trailers. One just so happens to be the highly-anticipated trailer for The Mandalorian season 3. Star Wars adventurers have been yearning for another season since the events of season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett. Be sure to watch the fresh footage here, which we’ve added to this post below. The Mandalorian Has Some New Allies in Season 3’s Trailer
As a quick spoiler warning, read with caution if you aren’t up to date with the titular show. But as a quick recap, season 2 ended with Din Djarin and Grogu parting ways in order for the latter to learn the ways of the Force. Some time passes, and we’re brought into Boba Fett’s show, where the aforementioned two essentially reunite. Now, they’re back for another galactic journey with season 3.
The trailer showcases the current identity situation that Din Djarin is facing. Ever since the removal of his helmet, he’s been disowned by his Mandalorian brethren. We see shots of the planet Mandalore where our hero meets with Bo Katan, who isn’t exactly happy with him. Throw in some action sequences, Carl Weathers, and fantastical science spectacle, and you have the perfect recipe for a Mandalorian trailer. Not much else is expressed in the narrative, but it is, in fact, a teaser. Baby Yoda fanatics will also get a decent amount of the little guy having some fun.
The Mandalorian season 3 trailer was a part of the Studio Showcase of the D23 Expo. It presents various sneak peeks and special guests who star in Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios projects. Disney’s Epic Entertainment Showcase also falls on day 2 of the event.
Season 3 of The Mandalorian is scheduled for a February 2023 release, though no exact date has been specified. A fourth season has already been confirmed, and it’s reportedly in development.
