The Quarry Can You Save the Hacketts
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Do you want to learn how to save the Hacketts in The Quarry and get an alternate ending? Most members of the Hackett family are by no means the kind of characters worth saving. Travis is an exception, but more on that later. There will always be situations in the game when you need to kill one of the Hacketts, and if you want a good ending, you should listen to the game’s tips. But if you want an alternative and darker ending, today we’ll tell you how to save Hacketts.

Can You Save the Hacketts in The Quarry?

(Updated on August 8, 2024 – updated links and format)

If you want to save all the members of the Hacketts family, we have some bad news for you. You can’t save all the Hacketts! When you save someone like Chris Hackett, you are putting other family members to death, so you have to choose. You also need to understand that the saved Hacketts will kill many other characters, so you can forget about a good ending.

But The Quarry has multiple endings, and if you want to see the dark end of the game, here’s how to save the Hacketts:

  • Constance: Fail the QTE while playing as Laura during Chapter 9. If you want to save Constance, you need to kill Chris and Bobby at the first opportunity because one of them will kill her.
  • Chris: Kill Laura while playing as Ryan during chapter 9. We don’t recommend saving Chris as this character will kill Laura, Ryan, Jedidiah, and Constance
  • Jedidiah: Run away from Jedidiah instead of attacking her during chapter 9. Don’t kill Bobby while playing as Ryan because Jedidiah will die.
  • Travis: Don’t shoot Travis in jail while playing as Laura. Also, kill Silas towards the end of the game.
  • Bobby: You shouldn’t stab him while playing as Ryan.
  • Caleb: Run to the kitchen and after select Run again while playing Kaitlyn. Caitlin will die, but you will save Caleb

If you want a dark ending, try to save as many Hacketts as you can. But if you want a good end, you can sacrifice all the Hacketts except Travis. Keeping Travis alive will allow you to kill Silas for the White Wolf achievement. Other than that, Travis is one of the conditions for getting the good ending of the game, making him the most helpful Hacketts of all.
