HOLY THWIP! The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer is finally here!
After months of rumors, fan speculation, and surprising casting news, the trailer arrives today. Aside from Avengers: Endgame, a glimpse at Spider-Man: No Way Home is something fans have been eagerly waiting for.
In the trailer, viewers see several surprises and teases for what is to come.
It begins with MJ and Peter hiding from the world. As one might suspect, this is from Mysterio leaking Peter’s identity in the last movie. Next, viewers witness Peter being interrogated for the “murder” of Mysterio. With his secret identity gone and everyone out to get him, Peter seeks out Dr. Strange. He hopes magic may be able to solve his problems. However, after Strange agrees to help, Peter’s chatter meddles with the dangerous spell. As a result, he spirals from the reality fans know and love into the vast Multiverse.
Because of this, viewers begin to see a treasure trove of images. They see a Green Goblin bomb rolling down a street as well as an appearance from Doc Ock. The villain, played by Alfred Molina from 2004’s Spider-Man 2, appears and greets our hero, saying, “Hello Peter.”
With that, dozens of fans’ questions have been answered while so many more have been raised.
What we know from the trailer:
- Doctor Strange will help Peter with his identity crisis.
- Spider-Man will explore the Multiverse.
- Green Goblin is involved in some capacity.
What we still do not know:
- The level of Doctor Strange’s involvement in the movie
- If Spider-Man will get home
- How involved previous Spider-Man movie villains will be
- If other Spider-Man stars like Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield will appear
Although not every question was answered, fans received a real treat today with the trailer’s release, and more will reveal itself when Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in theaters on December 17, 2021.
