Today is a bleak day for those in Florida. Without warning, gas prices have skyrocketed overnight, leaving many Floridians stunned. If you are unaware, gas prices are extremely high today, with some people reporting a per-gallon increase of around 12 cents overnight. While some were already expecting this, many are furious, not for the prices per se, but because people believe it was the state that caused this, and they are now blaming those who voted for Trump for this price hike.
Florida woke up today to a bleak landscape, which many news websites have already covered. Many Floridians were shocked today when they arrived at gas stations to find regular gas at $4.29, mid-grade at $4.76, premium at $5.08, and diesel at $6.34. These prices are averages, according to AAA Fuel Prices, but costs will vary by city.
The real shocker is diesel, which is cents away from costing $7, something that many believe could end up happening given the country’s current situation. Some are even speculating that this could affect the economy in many ways, such as making some transportation services more expensive or even raising food prices because moving products from one place to another will be so costly
Speculation aside, people seem to think this is something everyone in Florida deserves, or at least those who voted for Trump.
Florida Locals Lack Empathy as They Believe Trump Voters Caused This
Since Trump is considered the main culprit for gas prices and the current economy, many blame those who voted for the current President, saying it is something everyone deserves.
“The majority of Floridians voted for this. Blame your neighbors and relatives. He said we’d have $2 fuel, but what he meant was $2 more in fuel.“
“This is what our state wanted, so I guess that’s more winning!“
“Good. Let it get worse. The last lesson only held up for about 80 years, so I guess we need another.“
As you can see, there seems to be a lack of empathy, which is a different landscape from the one we saw a couple of months ago. Previously, people were worried about prices and how they would affect everyone’s daily lives. Now, it seems they believe this is a consequence everyone has to pay for after voting for Trump.
