Lindsay Hubbard has been a thriving reality star since Summer House first aired in 2017. However, the mother of one didn’t expect the show to take off the way it has. During an interview with Alex Baskin on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast, the reality star said she joined the show with one goal in mind: financial freedom. Nine seasons later, Lindsay has been a mainstay on the show, certainly reeling in a pretty penny. “Here we are,” she said. “It’s like, ‘Whoa, how the f-ck did we get here?’”
Lindsay Wanted To Join Summer House to Clear Her $35,000 Student Loans
Before ever stepping foot into the summer house, Lindsay said she knew why she was joining the show. “I just wanted to pay the student loans off,” she said. “It was so simple for me.” The blonde beauty said she had about “$35,000” left to pay off when she first joined the cast. “I was like, ‘The girl math is, ‘OK, great! If I can just do one season — who knows how long it’s gonna last — at least get the student loans out the door and not have to worry about them.’”
For those who haven’t seen the show, Summer House is about a group of close-knit New York professionals who ditch the city for the weekend to party in the Hamptons. Previous seasons have featured romantic relationships, petty drama, and explosive feuds. Lindsay said that joining the show felt like a no-brainer. “… we already do this; this is how we live our summer lives. Throw a camera in there; it’ll be fine,” she said. “For me, personally, I just wanted to pay off my student loans,” Hubbard said before saying the show was “purely financial.”
Lindsay Hubbard Is Making Money in Other Ways, Too!
Lindsay Hubbard is making money in other ways besides Summer House. During an episode of the Trading Secrets podcast, the reality star revealed she’s made over $100,000 by monetizing her pregnancy online. “The biggest deal,” she said, was a sponsored post by ClearBlue. “People were very torn up about this,” she said, noting that people slammed her for using her unborn child to earn an income. “It’s like, ‘Why not?’ I’m gonna make the announcement anyway. Why not make money from it?” Since leaving her full-time role in PR, Hubbard said she has to rely on social media for money. “I mean, this is how I’m making my money.”
Will Lindsay Be On Summer House Season 9?
It’s been some time since fans have seen Lindsay Hubbard on television, but don’t worry. The Summer House star will return to television when Season 9 premieres in February 2025. Some watchers questioned her decision to travel back to the house while pregnant; however, she defended herself against the noise in 2024. “Can you not party when you’re pregnant?” she asked People.
Although she won’t be drinking like her other cast mates, she will be arguing with a few of them. In the super teaser, the clip showed Lindsay arguing with Carl Radke, her ex-fiance, over his alleged cheating during their relationship. “You’re a f-cking fraud. And now, I’m adding cheater to your f-cking resume,” she said.
