After spending five years living in London, Tom Cruise is ready to return to the United States. Things have taken a bit of a slow turn for the Top Gun star over the years. While his movies still do well, for now, Tom’s reputation in the U.S. is now what it used to be.
This is a solid hit to the actor’s ego, and he is desperate to do whatever it takes to rebuild his status with his stateside fans. So, he is devising a plan to reunite with some of his fellow A-listers, including his ex-Nicole Kidman, in hopes of rebuilding his brand.
Tom Cruise is ready to go the extra mile to ensure his movie career and popularity stay at a level he can accept. Tom is known for his franchise hits, including Mission Impossible and Jack Reacher films. However, he has noticed things moving downhill for him lately.
At 62, Tom Cruise will eventually have to face reality. He will not always be able to go the extra mile and perform those death-defying stunts of his past films. So, he is looking for a way to capitalize on his celebrity name before things fizzle out.
His most recent success with the Top Gun Maverick sequel got him thinking about another possible sequel to keep the Tom Cruise train rolling, at least for now. Hello magazine reports that Cruise is considering a major reunion with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman in a Days of Thunder sequel.
Tom Cruise Feels Snubbed By Nicole Kidman And U.S. Friends
Fans recall Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise while filming Days of Thunder in 1990. The couple married after meeting in 1990, with Tom filing for divorce 11 years later in 2011.
Their marriage did not end on friendly terms, and they have each tried to avoid the other since their split. But now, the latest rumors claim that Tom is interested in reuniting with Nicole.
Most fans do not believe Nicole Kidman will be interested in working with her former spouse, Tom Cruise. Nicole is currently at the height of her career. Her latest steamy film role, Babygirl, is receiving high ratings from her fans.
Nicole Kidman is also starring in the Netflix hit series The Perfect Couple. She is also slated to reunite with her longtime pal Sandra Bullock in the highly anticipated sequel Practical Magic 2. So, considering an alleged offer to star alongside Tom Cruise is highly unlikely for several reasons.
Tom Cruise is reportedly desperate to rebuild his former friendship with David and Victoria Beckham. Sources tell Radar Online that Cruise feels this relationship will help expedite his A-list status in the United States.
“Tom is eager to reconnect with the Beckhams to regain his A-list status in the U.S., recognizing that their popularity could boost his standing,” the insider states. “Having isolated himself in the U.K., he finds his previous friendships dwindling, making the Beckhams a focal point for re-establishing connections.”
Too Many Bridges Burned
Their busy social lives in the States mean that Tom’s enthusiasm may not be reciprocated, highlighting a somewhat poignant reality of his current situation. “The cold reality is that making time for Tom just isn’t a priority for them. However, Tom is willing to do anything to get their stamp of approval.”
Tom Cruise burned many bridges in the United States. So it is rather sad that the one-time A-Lister seems so desperate all these years later. It will be interesting to see how far Tom Cruise is willing to go now that he is back stateside.
Regarding Nicole Kidman’s reuniting with Tom Cruise, her fans say, “There is no way that will happen. She is at the top of her game now; she does not need Tom Cruise or his shady movie ideas.”
