Celebrities Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz would like to believe they’ve come out of their shocking breakups stronger for the experience. Now, the two are reunited on Sandoval’s Everybody Loves Tom podcast. There, they’re looking back at 2023 and sharing the wisdom they acquired this year, especially when it comes to dating.
The Two Toms Talked Cheating and Share What They Learned
Schwartz instructed Sandoval to “give a PSA” about cheating and dishonesty now that the dust has settled on “Scandoval.” The massive incident, which became a centerpiece of pop culture discourse earlier this year, occurred when he was revealed to have cheated on his partner of nine years, Ariana Madix.
Schwartz began,
“If you’re unhappy in your relationship [or] if you feel lost or have experienced feelings for a coworker and it’s starting to escalate, don’t do it.”
“Don’t do it,” Sandoval agreed. “Just sit down and have that very uncomfortable conversation with your partner. Go to therapy, or just say it’s over. Don’t have a f–king affair!”
Sandoval Thought He’d Never Find Another Relationship If He Left Ariana Madix
Sandoval and Schwartz both cited insecurity as part of the reason why they turned to infidelity and urged others not to do the same.
“One thing that really kept me hanging on was the insecurity I had in myself,” Sandoval said of his former relationship. “I felt like. ‘Oh, my gosh, I can’t lose this other person because I’ll never get this.'”
Sandoval continued,
“I had such an insecurity with myself that I felt, ‘If I let this go, it will never happen again.'”
“You can, and banking on that is a much safer bet than staying and doing and living in that,” he advised.
“You start to hide from the reality of the rest of your life. And you just become lost in that,” he concluded.
The comments come ahead of a new season of Vanderpump Rules, which will follow the aftermath of the cheating scandal. Fans are excited to tune in when season 11 of the series premieres on Tuesday, Jan 30, at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
