Call of Duty games have never come with any shortage in weapon categories and equipment; not even in their beta versions! And the same goes for the Modern Warfare 3 beta that is live at the moment for all players across all platforms. This game has been positively reviewed in beta version by many Call of Duty content creators, most of whom say that the guns in MW3 beta are some of the best in the series. That being the case, let’s find out the best guns in Modern Warfare 3 beta and rank them from balanced to the absolute killing machine.
5. MTZ-556
The MTZ-556 is pretty much what we had as the SA-805 in Call of Duty: Ghosts. This gun wasn’t a meta either in Ghosts, only being a good balanced Assault Rifle that not many players would pick in the game. Now in Modern Warfare 3, the SA-805’s successor isn’t that much different. With a high fire rate and balanced damage, the MTZ-556 is a pretty good rifle to start the game with. You won’t have to be worried about the accuracy too; the 556 family seem to all be sharpshooters either if it’s a Lachmann or an MTZ.
4. AMR9
The AMR9 is another example of a well-balanced weapon, but this time in the SMG category. The name is familiar to those who have been playing the Call of Duty games for a long time now. This weapon was seen in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare back in 2014, where it was a meta SMG in the game. However, for Modern Warfare 3, it’s not exactly the same and AMR9 is not a meta weapon.
In fact, the AMR9 is one of the best guns in the Modern Warfare 3 beta due to its high fire rate, good accuracy, and the damage that’s enough for winning 1v1 fights. This is while if you finetune this weapon, you’ll also be able to fight the ones holding the meta MCW or even Striker!
3. Lockwood 380
Lockwood 300 is currently a meta and absolutely broken weapon in Warzone, and it seems like the power of one-shot runs in the family. You can now shoot two rounds at the same time using the Maelstorm trigger on the Lockwood 300 in Warzone, which is a solid addition to the weapon. Currently in Modern Warfare 3 however, we’ve got the Lockwood 380, which seems to be an upgrade over the 300 version.

You can’t shoot two rounds at the same time with Lockwood 380 but don’t worry, you won’t even need this feature. You can currently one-shot anyone with the Lockwood 380 in the range of 15 meters in the Modern Warfare 3 beta. This is broken, and at the same time very fun to play with, making Lockwood 380 one of the best guns in MW3 – Modern Warfare 3 beta.
2. MCW
The good old ACR from Modern Warfare 2 2009 and Modern Warfare 3 2011 is here! This AR was one of the best back in both old MW games, and now it’s here to claim its throne again in the Modern Warfare 3 beta. The MCW has a balanced fire rate while packing a heavy punch with each round it shoots. However, the important stats of this AR are mobility and accuracy.
Another feature that comes with this Assault Rifle is its solid-looking iron sights. This is very good, compared to the iron sights of most of the Modern Warfare 2 weapons. Except for the Lachmann bros, you need to put an optic on nearly every MW2 weapon in the game.
1. Striker
The MCW checks every box for the best gun in MW3 – Modern Warfare 3 beta, but still, there’s a weapon that hits higher standards in the game already. The Striker SMG is a very solid gun that you can take down 150 HP enemies by shooting three rounds only! It doesn’t have the best fire rate, but the accuracy and raw power of it speak for themselves.
This gun is pretty much similar to the UMP from the old MW2 2009, which was a very broken weapon in that game. One more thing that adds more power to the Striker’s stats is its damage range; meaning that you can get kills by shooting a few rounds of it from one side of the Estate to the other.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is due to release on November 10, 2023.
