The Total War saga of games is one that average gamers haven’t heard much of but is popular in the strategy community. I didn’t hear of the series until Total War: Three Kingdoms, which has garnered some serious critical acclaim. If you haven’t looked into the Total War series, and enjoy a good strategy game from time to time, it may be a series you’ll want to look into. You won’t have to pay to try it out either, at least if you act fast. Total War Saga: Troy just released on the Epic Games Store, and is free to keep if you claim before 6 AM tomorrow. Now would be the perfect chance to try out a series that’s well revered in the strategy community. You can find the trailer for the new title below.

Total War Saga: Troy puts you in the era of the Trojan War, as the name might imply. From both the perspective of the Greeks and Trojans, experience the war like its never been shown before. As one of eight playable characters (all iconic from the Trojan War) use your strategy, forward-thinking, and any other tricks to outsmart your opponent. Will you, as the Greeks, take down the evil that is the Trojan army? Or will you fight to conquer the Greek land as the Trojans? In Total War Saga: Troy, the choice is up to you.

I’m quite surprised they’re giving such a game out for free. This title could’ve made many sales without the gift, but it’s nice of them to do regardless. Maybe with the additional player base in Total War Saga: Troy, players will be interested in exploring the rest of what the Total War series offers. We’ll just have to wait and see. For now, I’d like to hear your thoughts on all this. Will you pick up Total War Saga: Troy before the free period ends? Any other strategy series that have you coming back time and time again? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
