For those of you who are unfamiliar with the series, the titular Kung Fu Panda is called Po. The first film detailed how the food obsessed panda ends up becoming a kung fu master. Along the way, he saves the day from the vicious snow leopard Tai Lung. The second film sees Po defending the valley of peace from villains wielding ‘weaponized fireworks’.
As you can see from the trailer, Kung Fu Panda 3 builds upon the ending of the previous film. Namely the revelation that Po’s biological father was still alive.
According to collider.com, the synopsis for Kung Fu Panda 3 is as follows;
‘When Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible—learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas’
