Travis Kelce and his older brother Jason Kelce are two very well-known names. However, despite everything they do together, they are still brothers, and brothers sometimes fight. Before they both joined the NFL, they sharpened their competitive edges at home against each other, which led to tensions boiling over from time to time. While making an appearance on Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast, Jason recalled a rare event from earlier in their lives.
According to The Big Podcast on Twitter, Jason Kelce was playing a game of backyard basketball with Travis Kelce. Travis was getting the better of his older brother, so Jason decided to throw a hard foul at Travis. Travis, in turn, called his brother out as Jason said, “I don’t see any refs out here.’ Travis threw the ball at Jason, which was the final straw. The former NFL center punched his brother in the face and that started a “full-on fist fight.”
Jason Kelce Recalls His Fight With Travis Kelce
“Listen, we would fight every time,” Jason said. “This was only the second time I’d ever punched him. I don’t know how it got that heated. Punched him in the face. Every time before that, he would cry or whatever. He took this punch, scooped me up off my feet, and slammed me on the kitchen floor so hard the oven got knocked off the tracks. I get up. We’re in a full-on fist fight.”
However, despite the heated exchange between the two younger men, Jason and Travis have moved past it. The brothers have shown their love for each other many times since then. Jason was there to cheer on his brother in his latest Super Bowl win. The older Kelce was in a suit with Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Travis Kelce also co-hosts a very popular podcast with Jason Kelce called New Heights. The brother’s podcast has gotten most of its attention due to Travis’ involvement with Swift. However, that does not discredit the work the brothers have put into their show. The Kelce boys seem to have patched things up and are still as close as ever.
