InnoGames has launched the iOS version of its cross-platform strategy game Tribal Wars 2. Players can download the app for free on the App Store and it supports all iOS devices from the iPhone 4S on. Tribal Wars 2 is fully cross-platform, which allows users to seamlessly switch between Android, browser and now the iOS-App and never lose progress. The game follows its classic browser predecessor Tribal Wars, which has 55 million registered players worldwide.
Tribal Wars 2‘s cross-platform-approach lends itself perfectly to the game’s hardcore-PvP as it’s playable on a single account across numerous devices and operating systems. Players cooperate in large tribes, having to coordinate strategies and attacks in real-time. Constant access to the action in-game via phones and tablets gives engaged players an edge over their competition.
In Tribal Wars 2, players find themselves as the leader of a small village in the midst of a medieval world. Tasked with growing and expanding their empire within a war-torn landscape, they have to fight in order to survive. The MMO’s focus is real-time, strategic battles with and against other players. The Tribal Wars series has always been very special to InnoGames, according to Fabio Lo-Zito, who manages PR for the company. When he spoke to us in an interview about the company, as well as their games, he said:
“When InnoGames started doing games, the first people working on Tribal Wars, including the founders, were big fans of RTS games like Age of Empires and Command & Conquer. And after we had initial success with Tribal Wars, we established strategy games as natural part of InnoGames’ DNA – we will always have several strategy games in our lineup, with stronger focus on certain aspects, like PvP or peaceful town building, like you have in Forge of Empires.”
With about 130 million registered players, InnoGames is one of the world’s leading developers and providers of online games. Currently, the Hamburg-based company employs 350 professionals from 25 nations. InnoGames has scored major success with games such as Tribal Wars, Grepolis and Forge of Empires.
