Tribes of Midgard creators Norsfell and Gearbox Publishing have today announced the next season of content for the survival title, aptly named Season 2: Serpent Saga! This new season of content will release on December 14, available for free for all who own the standard versions of Tribes of Midgard. Should you not have the standard version of the title, it’s available for $19.99 on Steam, the PlayStation Store, and starting on December 14, the Epic Games Store!
Season 2: Serpent Saga of Tribes of Midgard brings with it a heap of new content to slither its way into your games. The biggest and scariest change of all is a new Saga boss, which the team are keeping mostly under wraps. Given the name of the season though, it shouldn’t entirely be a surprise. Head over to the seas if you wish to tackle this major beast. But wait a minute, you may be asking how you access this in Tribes of Midgard’s current state. No need to fear though, as both swimming and boats are now part of the game! The team has reinforced that these features have been highly requested, so be ready to head out onto the open seas!
And with that of course is the new Open Seas region to explore. Beyond the vast and beautiful oceans, littered throughout is a series of new islands with Merchants, Beacon Camps, and much more! This expanded map should give you plenty more to explore with your friends, not to mention some sweet loot to help you prevent Ragnarok! Julian Maroda, CEO and Creative Director of Norsfelll, went into what you can expect and the excitement he has for the project.
Our goal has always been to build Tribes of Midgard into the ultimate Viking Sandbox, and Season 2 seamlessly continues that journey for the one million vikings who are already members of our Tribe! This new season radically changes the world, allowing players to swim (literally!) through our ever-growing Norse sandbox, setting sail on new horizons, and fighting waves of new enemies as they enjoy a boatload of QoL improvements. We’re delivering a true expansion in every sense that was built from the ground up to expand upon every facet of the original content, giving players new tools regardless of which Saga Quest they’re on.”
If this all isn’t enough for you, Norsfell and Gearbox Publishing finished off today’s announcements with a brand new roadmap! You can find said roadmap on their official website, featuring plenty of new mechanics in store for 2022 and beyond.
