It appears that Twitch didn’t take Ninja’s departure all that well. The popular streamer announced his move to rival service Mixer earlier this month.
This weekend, he took to Twitter to lambast Twitch because of the way it has been using his channel. The streamer claims advertisements have been airing in place of broadcasts. Some of those advertisements were reportedly even for pornography. Ninja posted this information in a video that was meant to be an apology to any of his followers who happened across the advertisements.
Ninja wanted Twitch to stop using his channel in ways different than normal dormant users. It appears his former employer has acquiesced though it hasn’t dodged backlash stemming from the accusations.

Despite Ninja tweeting out his channel has been returned to normal on Sunday evening, Twitter users still went on the rampage. #TWITCHISOVERPARTY began trending early Monday morning.
Twitch has now reverted my channel back to how an offline page should look. Thank you.

Most of the hashtag was populated by people pointing out some inconsistencies in the way Twitch deals with certain streamers. One user pointed out another popular streamer, Alinity has faced zero repercussions for her behavior. Alinity was accused earlier this month of animal abuse. Those charges stemmed from videos showing tossing her cat over her head out of frustration.
Other videos surfaced after some digging showing her feeding her cat vodka on stream. A petition formed shortly after the allegations to remove her from Twitch. Initial signals seemed to indicate she could indeed face some kind of punishment. It appears now the streaming service is just hoping people will forget her actions altogether.
The company has yet to make an official announcement about their treatment of Ninja’s stream. The change back to a normal dormant channel was done quietly and quickly.
It appears they may need to make some kind of statement eventually if they want to stem the backlash to their latest actions.
