It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have some official news on Assassin’s Creed Shadows. After what feels like months of leaks and teases, Ubisoft has finally come forward with some official news on the next Assassin’s Creed title. The new trailer has a lot to unpack, from the game’s dual protagonists to its series-standard open world, but one of the things that caught the most attention is the reveal that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have not one, not two, but three different special editions, each with their own preorder bonuses and wildly varying price points.

Anyone who’s ever played a Ubisoft game, especially in recent years, can confirm that they’re no strangers to the concept of a special edition. The Assassin’s Creed series is no exception, with each game usually having more than one special edition, each with its own unique bonus collectible and a bit of in-game content. The latest game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, had a Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Master Assassin Edition, and a separate Collector’s Case Edition on top of all of that.

With that in mind, it’s not terribly surprising that Ubisoft has come forward with three special editions for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. However, given that Ubisoft has become known for massive (and slightly overwhelming) open worlds, and Shadows is planning on having two protagonists, it can be hard to keep the preorder bonuses and the editions straight. Which is why we’ve broken it all down for you below.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Standard Edition ($69.99)

Includes:

  • Base Game
  • “Thrown to the Dogs” Preorder Bonus Quest

Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Gold Edition ($109.99)

Includes:

  • Base game
  • “Thrown to the Dogs” Preorder Bonus Quest
  • Season Pass (bonus quest and access to 2 expansion packs)
  • 3 days of Early Access gameplay

Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Ultimate Edition ($129.99)

Includes:

  • Base Game
  • “Thrown to the Dogs” Preorder Bonus Quest
  • Season Pass (bonus quest and access to 2 expansion packs)
  • 3 days of Early Access gameplay
  • The Ultimate Pack (Sekiryu Character Pack with gear and weapons for both characters, the Sekiryu Beast, the Dragon Tooth trinket, Sekiryu Hideout Pack, five skill points, and Red Dragon photo mode filter)

Interested players can also sign up for a Ubisoft+ subscription and get the Ultimate Edition for $17.99 per month, along with Ubisoft’s game catalog. More information on all of the editions for Assassin’s Creed Shadows can be found here.

Ubisoft will release Assassin’s Creed Shadows on November 15th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
