This is something we didn’t see coming. At all. Ubisoft announced in the past that they would stop supporting the latest Ghost Recon Breakpoint game. The game had some excellent updates and some nice stuff on the Season Pass. Yet, some players, especially those with next-gen consoles, were sad to see the game would not be upgraded. Well, we got a surprise. Ubisoft launched a Ghost Recon Breakpoint Next-Gen Upgrade. It has been officially announced that players can now enjoy a game with better visuals and performance. Another great news is that the update is completely free for those who have the game.

The Ghost Recon Breakpoint Next-Gen Upgrade Offers Performance and Resolution Modes

As with many other games, the 2019 Ghost Recon Breakpoint game got an upgrade for the new consoles. Those who have either a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S console will be able to enjoy this upgrade. These are the modes you can choose:

  • PS5: Performance Mode at 1080p and 60fps, and Resolution Mode at 4K and 30fps
  • Xbox Series X: Performance Mode at 1080p and 60fps, and Resolution Mode at 4k (Upscale 4K) and 30fps
  • Xbox Series S: 1440p at 30fps at all times

As you can see, this is similar to many other titles with upgrades. While one day we hope to play all games at 4K and 60fps like Returnal, it is still nice to see a way to choose between performance and resolution. The Ghost Recon Breakpoint Next-Gen Upgrade is now available for download on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game experienced a lot of backlash during and after its launch. With the RPG elements removed later via an update, there was yet another controversy. Ubisoft wanted to add NFTs to the game, but this was stopped by players’ complaints. So, while it wasn’t the smoothest ride, it is still a fun game to play. Especially now with the new upgrade.
