After all of the leaks and rumors that came out yesterday, Ubisoft has officially unveiled their next installment of the Ghost Recon franchise titled Ghost Recon Breakpoint. You can see the full gameplay demo down below:

Along with that, Ubisoft released a cinematic trailer revealing Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, The Walking Dead) among the game’s main cast:

Bernthal is no stranger to the Ghost Recon series. The actor recently appeared in Ghost Recon Wildlands’ Operation Oracle, the latest free DLC update to the 2017 open-world shooter. In Operation Oracle, Bernthal played Cole Walker, a fellow Ghost and friend of Nomad (the game’s protagonist). Obviously, things have changed and Walker will be one of the main villains the Ghosts must face while trekking across the island of Auroa.

Onto the game itself. As a direct sequel to Wildlands, Ghost Recon Breakpoint will feel very similar to Wildlands from the possible 4-player co-op to even some shooting mechanics. However, it seems that Breakpoint has a few key new features to make it stand on its own. Players can sustain major injuries that can be healed via kits or a temporary camp called a Bivouac. While being hunted down by the Wolves, you can camouflage yourself while in certain terrains. The demo featured Nomad covering himself up in mud so he could remain undetected from an incoming kill-squad. This feature is called Prone Camo.

Other additions to Ghost Recon Breakpoint include the ability to silently breach through fences, select from between 4 different classes while at any Bivouac camp, and even moving bodies (including your teammates). The Pacific Island of Auroa will have many terrains to explore from snowy mountaintops to sunny beachsides. Ghost Recon Breakpoint will also include endgame Raids for the first time in the franchise’s history. The first Raid will release post-launch and take place on a volcano.

Breakpoint is set to release on October 4th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

What were your thoughts on this reveal? With Ghost Recon Wildlands releasing only 2 years ago, do you think it was a good move to announce another Ghost Recon game so quickly? Let us know in the comments below!
