A recently engaged man in New York had his child’s gender reveal posted online. While his fiancée was ecstatic to learn they were having a boy, the man appeared to be unbothered, having the most lukewarm reaction to the life-changing news. The internet, of course, was ruthless.
The gender reveal was posted on TikTok by user abbys_life__, or Abby, who is engaged to Kenny. Excited, she explained how they would both turn over their wine glasses, push them down onto a cake, look away, close their eyes, turn the glasses back up, and then find out if they were having a boy or a girl.
Kenny, listening, had his hand over his mouth, appearing tired, closing his eyes as if he was about to fall asleep. In contrast, Abby looked at him, hoping for some eye contact that never came about.
The New York fiancé and fiancée pushed the glasses onto the cake, and once they picked them back up, the frosting was blue. They were having a boy. Both of them opened their eyes, and Abby was so thrilled that she began to tremble.
“Oh! It’s a boy!” she said as she laughed and hugged Kenny.
The man, meanwhile, looked away from her, moving away from the camera lens. He did smile, though, but he said no words whatsoever. Kenny only looked at the cake-filled glass, speechless, possibly contemplating the rest of his life with Abby and his son.
Kenny Gets Dragged Online
As expected, the internet reacted to the viral clip in the most typical way: completely cooking the man for the apparent lack of emotions.
“She’s going to be an amazing single mom!!” one user commented. Another one asked, “Do you guys know each other?” A third one wrote, “That man was so upset, all he wanted was shelter.”
Fortunately for Kenny, some users defended him, saying that not all people react the same way to important news. Among his defenders was his fiancée herself, who said that he doesn’t feel comfortable in front of a camera. Still, the bashing didn’t stop, with many feeling sad over the New York man’s unbothered reaction.
Regardless of whether Kenny is truly shy or emotionless, it appears that Abby is well aware of his on-camera limitations. While becoming a father is quite the journey, odds are that he will be an amazing father to his boy.
