Well…that was creepy!
You’ve arrived at the home of Harris Bullard, a man who mysteriously passed away in his study just five days ago. You’re tasked with investigating the crime and need to solve the case before, you guessed it, you’re the next victim! Welcome to the world of Dead Secret by developer Robot Invader.
The new game was announced along with a creepy and provoking trailer early on Wednesday during Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference. The game was originally shown in prototype last year at Oculus Connect to great response. Since then the team has gone on to partner with Sony to develop the experience for PS3, PS4, and PlayStation VR. It appears as though it’ll be a game that will really benefit from a virtual reality setting and immerse you in the creepy surroundings when strapping on the VR headset. While I haven’t personally had any hands-on experience with Playstation VR, the trailer below shows just how effective the tech could be with a game like Dead Secret.
In the game, it’s your job as the investigator and journalist to uncover the mysterious surroundings of Mr. Bullard’s home and death. The game promises to be a first-person narrative and exploratory experience like no other. Robot Invader says the murder mystery will also include multiple endings to the story, a great way to jump back into the eery setting again and again.
Nobody suspects foul play, least of all the police. But you know better: this is murder, and it’s up to you to prove it. Designed for console and VR, Dead Secret is a mystery thriller in which you play as an ambitious journalist on a mission to make headlines.
With Halloween just around the corner, you can pick up Dead Secret right now for Gear VR, with a release date of January 2016 for the PS3 and PS4, while the VR version will release later in the year.
