Unhinged Chicago TikToker Hands Several Homeless Individuals Machetes for Free: ‘This Has to Be Illegal’

That’s one way to help them

People have different ways of helping those in need. When someone encounters a homeless person, they might offer food, clothes, shelter, or even a little money. Apparently, there are far more “creative” options out there, though not necessarily safe ones.

That became clear when an unhinged Chicago TikToker posted a video showing how he believes he’s “keeping homeless people safe.” His method? Handing them brand-new machetes. Yes, actual machetes. Hopefully, he only did it for the sake of the video and took them back afterward, because otherwise, this is the kind of idea that seems destined to end badly.

Surprisingly, the homeless individuals featured in the Chicago TikToker’s video actually wanted the machetes. Not a single person turned one down. He even handed them out to people in wheelchairs. On top of that, he gave one to a woman as well, so at least he wasn’t discriminating in his chaos.

By the end of the video, the last guy who received a machete looked a little too comfortable holding it. It wouldn’t be shocking if he’d used one before. He even inspected it like he was checking out a familiar tool.

Yeah… something tells me he could cause trouble with that thing.

People Reacting to the Unhinged Chicago TikToker’s Gifts

The Chicago TikToker’s video left people shocked as many felt that this was definitely not legal. “This has to be illegal,” one person said. Another person wrote, “I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure you just crossed a legal red line.” This made someone agree and say, “fr surely this counts as supply of a deadly weapon and a possession charge.” Apparently, the TikToker is known for filming videos where he gives homeless people free stuff. This made some of his viewers believe that he took it too far with the machetes. “Nah this too much bro,” was one comment. One person then mentioned how people would do anything to gain views as they said, “I guess anything for likes and views nowadays.”

Others found what the Chicago guy did as something funny. This is why some joked about how the last man in the video looked when he grabbed the machete. “Naaaa take it back from the last guy,” one person wrote. Another person pointed out, “the last guy was smiling while grabbing it.” There was one TikTok user who counted the consequences the guy could be met with following his video. “Giving a deadly weapon (like a machete) to a vulnerable or unstable person can be considered putting the public in danger. Punishment: Fines. Probation. Jail time (depending on severity).” I don’t think he really cares.
