When you take your dog to the groomer, you expect them to follow your instructions and do nothing beyond that. So, imagine a Michigan woman’s surprise after she went and picked her dog from the groomer only to find out that they went against everything she asked for? Apparently, the groomer kept the dog for seven hours, which worried the owner since the requested service shouldn’t take that long. It turned out that during this duration, the groomer was dyeing the owner’s dog with permanent green dye. Mind you, the owner didn’t give her permission for this. It would have been less annoying if the dye could have been washed out, but the groomer just had to choose a permanent one. She then had the audacity to use pictures of the owner’s dog after her crime to advertise her services.
The situation kept getting worse. The Michigan groomer, who works for Jasmine’s pet salon, didn’t show any regret when the owner confronted her. The frustrated owner shared screenshots of how the groomer responded to her. This “apology” was just insane. She had the audacity to say, “It’s sometimes better to ask for forgiveness than permission.” What kind of professional says that? She then claimed that she won’t be able to grow her business if she took no for an answer. This is because the owner made it clear several times before that she didn’t want any color. The groomer kept asking despite this, and then she finally did it without asking for permission. She even had the client on a list called “my no permission candidates” but she thought that she would forgive her.
According to the groomer, the only thing that made her feel any guilt was that she kept the dog with her for a long time. So she didn’t mind that she dyed someone’s dog with permanent dye without even asking them if that was okay. Now, the owner won’t be able to take pictures with her dog in the snow like she planned to. What was more infuriating was that after everything that happened, the groomer still asked the owner to pay for the service. I have to applaud the owner for not losing it in the chat with the kind of responses she was receiving. Someone should do something, though, because this wasn’t the first time the groomer did this to a dog.
People Reacting to the Unhinged Michigan Groomer’s Actions
People were left in disbelief by what the Michigan groomer did. They were even upset on behalf of the owner. Since this is quite serious, one woman wrote, “id be suing her and filing charges.” Someone believed that there was nothing to sue for here, but people quickly pointed out everything wrong in this situation. “She can sue for 1. Property destruction 2. Negligence 3.trespass to chattels 4. And additional claims if she damaged the dogs skin or eyes from the dye,” one person wrote. Another person said, “breach of contract would likely be an option, ESPECIALLY if they had previously agreed on no dye.”
Others focused more on the insane response given by the Michigan groomer. “‘It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission’ girl you are so weird,” one person wrote as they quoted the groomer. Another person said, “‘Being one of my no permission candidates’ GIRL EXCUSE ME?! ONE?!?” Someone else then commented, “her responses would piss me off even more than the dye.” They were a little bit more annoying. One comment also noticed how the owner was calm as they said, “honestly I respect the owner so much for keeping her cool because I know many people wouldnt be able to. But the more messages I read from the groomer the more im like damn how did the owner not just go ballistic. It was like reading a child texts.” I just feel bad for the poor girl whose dog now looks like the Grinch.
