There are many crazy stories about people dealing with DoorDash drivers. Usually, the stories make you side with the customer but sometimes you wonder if the DoorDasher is actually the victim. A video filmed by a customer showed how his New Jersey DoorDasher was kind of unhinged as he lost it on him. Apparently, the customer only ordered a drink, which was one of the things that made people sympathize with the driver. The fact that this was the only item was upsetting to some. The main issue, though, was that the guy didn’t answer his phone at all while the driver was trying to contact him. Why would you order something and then ignore your phone when the driver is just trying to deliver your order?
The New Jersey customer not answering his phone made the DoorDasher quite angry. Since the customer was living on a campus, the DoorDasher kept yelling that he was driving around campus for over an hour just trying to find his apartment. If he had answered his phone, the driver wouldn’t have had to spend all this time. “Bro not cool. I have been trying to call you and text you for how long?” he asked while shouting. He then started pointing at the drink he delivered, which was on a table, before yelling that it ruined his entire morning. The driver also mentioned that this delivery was an hour and a half. During all of this, the customer was nonchalant as he just stood there and was more focused on his phone. He could have at least apologized for the inconvenience. The video ended before you could hear the rest of what the DoorDasher said. He definitely wasn’t pleased.
People Reacting to the Unhinged New Jersey DoorDasher
Surprisingly, there were many people who sympathized with the New Jersey DoorDasher despite his yelling. “I’m on the dasher side,” one person wrote. Another person agreed and pointed out how any DoorDasher’s number of canceled orders could affect their account’s status. “No fr I used to dash it was frustrating not getting in contact w the customer then if you cancel, DoorDash keeps track on how many cancellations you have & if you get so many they can deactivate your account,” they said. Someone else also said, “He is not wrong, people who don’t answer when they order things are wasting peoples time.” This was when one TikTok user came after the driver instead. “There are plenty of options you can take to not have to wait. 8 mins or more and you can cancel the order and then you get free food,” they wrote.
Others commented on how the New Jersey driver stepped inside the customer’s place to yell at him. “Yall let dasher come in YOUR home and CUSS YOU OUT?” one person asked in disbelief. Another person then asked, “lol so DoorDash just walking into people house now?” There was also someone who claimed that this kind of attitude by the DoorDasher is why they don’t use delivery services anymore. “This is why I don’t order these delivery services anymore if I can help it. These people are so unprofessional and entitled. No customer service skills at all. On top I just don’t want them handling my things,” they wrote. Despite these comments, more people supported the driver as another person said, “I would have canceled, they they have the nerve to record.” Now, I just want to know how long the driver kept yelling after the video ended.
