A woman sitting on a United Airlines flight to New York shared that, thanks to the plane carrying too much weight, some passengers were told to deboard in exchange for vouchers. Furthermore, every passenger inside was told that their checked bags were going to be removed as well. Unfortunately for her, this was but the first step in a nightmare trip to the Big Apple.
Reneé Noe, a popular lifestyle creator, shared what was going on during her United flight. Her content often features her family, and she previously announced a New York trip with her children. The clip attached above, the first in the “saga,” was the most popular of the bunch, garnering 2 million views, 154,000 likes, and close to 400 comments.
The California-based woman began recording from inside the plane. She detailed that the passengers were told that there was too much weight on the plane, so crew members started to offer $1,000 vouchers to get some of them to deboard. Some of them accepted and got off the plane.
However, what probably gave Reneé and other passengers some headaches was the fact that all their checked bags were being removed from the plane. Furthermore, she said that the bags were going to arrive at the New York airport, and that passengers were meant to return for their bags.
This was a big issue for her. She had checked a crib, a stroller, and even a car seat, and called the whole situation “mind-boggling.”
“I’m not even complaining, really,” she added. “I’m just like, how is this going to work?“
Landing In Virginia
In a follow-up, Reneé revealed that the plane had to land in Richmond, Virginia. Furthermore, all passengers were deplaned, leaving the woman and her daughter at the airport, waiting for her flight to New York to resume. Unfortunately for her, it ended up being canceled, so she had to stay at a hotel for the night. She did manage to get her car seat in the end.
In another clip, Reneé, with her girl in her arms, said that the flight to New York was rescheduled for 9:30 a.m. the next morning. She was back at the Richmond airport, and believing the United flight was not going to take off at all, ended up booking a different flight with Delta. The Delta plane, according to her, had maintenance problems, while the United flight had no crew assigned.
“I think we’re gonna have to end up just going home. Even though we don’t have bags, we have nothing,” Reneé said, as her girl played with some floss. “[…] At this point, we’re not making it [to New York]. And that’s fine.”
Social Media Reactions
The series of videos sparked multiple responses online, mainly from viewers who called what happened to her unacceptable. One said, “I’d be losing my mind. All of your emotions are so valid.” Another one commented, “What would people who check their wheelchairs do?“
Others, meanwhile, believed that Reneé, a Christian, was receiving signs that she shouldn’t go to New York at all. One wrote, “The Lord is protecting you from something in New York.” Another one agreed, saying, “I’d take it as a sign and go home.”
Reneé has not posted an update since her last clip, so it is unknown whether she actually arrived in New York or returned to California.
