For console players, chances are you haven’t heard much of Unturned. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if PC players haven’t heard much either. Despite that, the game is one of the most popular free-to-play titles on Steam with just over 18K concurrent players at the time of writing. Its accessibility to all audiences and the free-to-play business model definitely help with that. Soon though, console users will get a taste of all the fun it has to offer. Unturned arrives on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 12, available for $24.99.
Unturned may not immediately wow you with its graphics, but you’d be a fool to write it off based on that. Where it doesn’t focus much on graphical power, it puts heavy emphasis on the depth of its worlds and survival mechanics. You’ll explore large maps of Germany, Russia, PEI, and more as you uncover how the zombie outbreak began. Small tidbits of information are scattered around the world, giving clues as to how each country fell. That’s not to say there aren’t people trying to bring things back to normal though, who you’ll find on certain maps.
This complements the in-depth crafting system, focusing heavily on you creating different tools and modifying your weapons. You can even make your own weapons if you so wish. The possibilities are endless in Unturned. All of this is only heightened by console-specific features. The teams at FunLabs and 505 Games say Unturned on consoles has a redesigned camera, enhanced graphics and physics, controller support, and more!. As well, private servers are free to start with your friends so you can all play together.
There’s a lot on offer here, which I hope you enjoy. For now, I’d like to hear your thoughts on Unturned’s console release. Will you be playing Unturned once it releases on PS4 and Xbox One? Have you played Unturned on Steam? Let me know in the comments below!
