Uplay+ subscription service from Ubisoft is available today for Windows PC. Players will have unlimited access to download more than 100 games.
Uplay+ will consist of new releases, the latest games, back catalog, premium editions, and additional content packs. Gamers who subscribe now are eligible for a free trial of Uplay+ from September 3rd to September 30th.
Subscribers to the beta and early access program will have early access to content up to three days before release. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is just one such offering. This closed beta starts on September 5th. Uplay+ subscribers will also have the opportunity to play Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint Ultimate Edition on October 1st.
Uplay+ will have 25 franchises and more than 40 premium collections. All told, there will be over 4,000 hours of content available.
“We’re committed to providing players the freedom to choose how they want to access their favorite classic, new and upcoming games from our catalog,” said Brenda Panagrossi, vice president of Platform and Product Management. “In September, PC players will have the opportunity to jump in and test out Uplay+ at no cost to experience the value for themselves.”
Ubisoft has had a long history of making exceptional games. Gamers have gotten hooked on beloved franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rayman. Rainbow Six has been a gaming staple over twenty years, as have all the Tom Clancy inspired games.
Uplay+ will not be alone in the ever-growing field. Microsoft has their Xbox Game Pass and there’s EA/Origin Access. From music to TV, movies and more, monthly payment systems are going to dominate every field. Gamers have started to ditch the physical copy and embrace the virtual and downloadable. It might be a matter of time before we see all physical copies of games cease to exist.
Uplay+ will also be available on Google’s gaming platform, Stadia, in 2020. Players interested in signing up can go to the official site for more information and a full list of titles.
