A Utah woman was filmed vandalizing a boba shop, and it later emerged that she had destroyed the same store before over a cup.
The incident took place at a boba shop called Sunny Honey, which shared an Instagram post featuring footage of the woman damaging the store. In the caption, the business explained that it had to close early following the incident and alleged that the woman had threatened staff in addition to trashing the shop.
The video showed the woman inside the store, picking up items from the counter and throwing them at employees standing behind it. She then began grabbing heavier objects and hurling them to the ground. “You think this [expletive] is [expletive] funny?” she asked the staff as she continued damaging the shop.
The woman then picked up a chair and threw it over the counter toward an employee. She grabbed another chair and hurled it at a screen that appeared to display the menu before throwing a third chair and continuing to destroy items around her. The video ended by showing the aftermath, with the store left in disarray.
It Has Happened Before
Following the video’s viral spread, SLC Scoop interviewed the store’s owner, who revealed that the woman had caused a similar incident at the store before. According to the owner, the woman had been a regular customer for some time. During her last visit before the latest incident, she had asked for a cup that the store had discontinued.
During the earlier incident, staff repeatedly told the woman that the cup had been discontinued. According to the owner, the woman then “lost it” and began throwing items around the store. Employees eventually pushed her outside and locked both the front and back doors. However, the woman went to the drive-thru, where she caused further damage before taking an iPad.
The owner said they called the police during the earlier incident, and officers obtained the woman’s address. However, the store never followed up to find out whether any action had been taken. They also chose not to press charges at the time because they assumed nothing further would come of the incident.
According to the owner, during this second visit, the woman began talking to two customers inside the store. When the customers reportedly laughed, she started throwing items at employees, who were frightened by the situation. “We can’t afford to close,” the owner said.
The owner confirmed that staff called 911 during the latest incident and emphasized that the behavior was unacceptable, adding that her priority was keeping employees safe. Sunny Honey later shared an Instagram story explaining that it had turned off comments on the video because many users were focusing on the woman’s race. No further updates about the incident have been shared.
Viewers Left Shocked After Utah Woman Destroys Boba Store
Many viewers were shocked by the extent of the damage the Utah woman caused at the boba shop, prompting criticism of her behavior. “Look at all that destruction, if she’s stealing the day before, you know this [expletive] isn’t going to have money to pay for anything. Trash,” one person wrote. Another commenter criticized her emotional maturity, saying, “A complete failure to develop and mature beyond the emotionally capacity of a toddler. Something long ago went terribly wrong.”
Other viewers continued criticizing the woman’s behavior, with one person arguing that adults should face more criticism for such outbursts. “Grown adults having temper tantrums needs to be met with more criticism. Like if this was my buddy in this video I’d never let em live it down lol,” they wrote. Another commenter suggested making her pay for the damage, saying, “Take her paychecks until this is all paid off.” Someone else blamed poor parenting, adding, “Once again this is what happens without proper parenting. This country is falling apart because everyone thinks ‘free’ means they can do what they want.”
The incident highlighted the challenges small businesses face when dealing with disruptive customers, particularly when employees’ safety is at risk and property is damaged. Some viewers also stressed the importance of reporting such incidents and pursuing appropriate action to help prevent similar situations from happening again.
