A woman in Utah surprised her boyfriend by tagging along on his Paris senior trip. With the man’s mother also joining him in his trip to Europe, the post vlogging the surprise at the airport received many unexpected responses. Apparently, everyone thinks she ruined her boyfriend’s trip.
The impromptu tag-along was shared on TikTok by Jaedin, who runs the JaedinandJack account. She usually posts clips alongside Jack, her boyfriend, who is months from moving to Tempe, Arizona, as a missionary. The clip attached above became her biggest ever, garnering 1.9 million views, 114,200 likes, and close to 6,000 comments.
The video started with the Utah woman arriving at the airport. She detailed that she was surprising her boyfriend by joining his five-day Paris trip. She isn’t the only one, as Jack’s mother was also tagging along. Jaedin called it an “added surprise.”
“We’ve been planning this and keeping it a secret for so long, and I just couldn’t wait to see his reaction,” she said.
A Senior Trip
In the clip’s description, Jaedin provided some added context. Jack was supposed to go on a trip to Paris with his father. They would spend five days in Paris for his senior trip, but because the trip was also a birthday celebration, Jack’s parents decided to surprise him by having Jaedin and his mother join them.
“Once he gets home from Paris, he has two weeks, and then he leaves on his mission to serve the lord and the people of Arizona,” she wrote. “So his parents thought he would enjoy getting to spend the extra time with me before he is off.“
The clip showed Jaedin walking up to Jack and telling him, “Hey, you’re pretty cute. I’m just gonna tag along with you to Paris.” Jack couldn’t believe it at first, but eventually he welcomed the surprise, smiling and hugging Jaedin with a mouth yet to be closed. “Is that okay?” Jaedin asked. The question met with silence from a shocked Jack, still in disbelief.
Utah Reacts
As the video went viral, many viewers reacted not with awe, but with awkwardness and even borderline anger. To them, Jaedin had ruined Jack’s trip. One said, “I wish I could break up with you for him.” Another one commented, “Let him experience life. This isn’t the flex you think it is.”
The comments wouldn’t stop, with some even commenting on Jaedin’s past videos with Jack. One wrote, “His brain is literally reworking his ENTIRE plans that he had made.” Another one added, “He’s on his senior trip, and he has to spend it with his Mom… Girl, give him some space.”
The Utah woman has yet to post an update following the surprise post. She hasn’t responded to any of the comments, though, so she is probably busy spending time with Jack and his parents in Paris.
