If you were already in love with the wolf form in V Rising, wait until you get your paws on the bear transformation. If you didn’t know, this survival-crafting game allows players to transform into many things ranging from rats to bats. While some offer just another fun way of transportation, certain have destructive skills that can help you gather materials or break through some enemy’s strongholds. But before you can bring down the destructive power of this animal upon every human in V Rising, you must face Kodia the Ferocious Bear.

To locate Kodia the Ferocious Bear in V Rising, you must travel to the easternmost side of the starting area until you locate the Bear Cave. This cave is hard to miss as it only has one road for players to travel on, and by following the scent, you should arrive in no time. Contrary to other boss encounters, you won’t see any other enemy in the cave, so you can focus on this foe completely.

Once you engage Kodia in a fight, you’ll notice this enemy will focus on AoE attacks that hit like a truck. Beyond that, don’t let this animal’s size fool you; it can attack extremely fast and ruin your day in a few hits. Here are the moves you can expect:

  • Claw Attack: Kodia’s basic melee attack. You can dodge it when you see it lifting its paws.
  • Falling Rocks: Throughout the fight, Kodia will slam the ground, causing a shockwave and dropping many rocks on you. They’ll hit different places, so make sure to dodge and avoid the attack markers on the ground.
  • Bear Rage: When Kodia roars, that means it’ll activate its rage mode. When that happens, it’ll just attack faster, so try to dodge or use counterattacks when necessary.
  • Bear Charge: Eventually, Kodia will charge at you, doing a lot of damage. You can easily avoid this by running away from the bear and dodging it at the last moment.

Once you beat Kodia the Ferocious Bear in V Rising, you’ll unlock the destructive bear form. With this transformation, you can break certain objects, such as the entrance to the Bandit Stronghold, where the game’s final boss for Act I resides. Besides its destructive power, there are no other reasons to use the bear form constantly. Still, it’ll make you look like the proper vampire bear you always wanted to be.
