This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

There are few things as important as having maximum health in Valheim. When you die, you lose your skills. So, dedicated players will want to protect all their hard work by eating the right combination of foods. Unfortunately, getting maximum health only becomes obtainable after defeating Moder and unlocking the Windmill.

What is the maximum health possible inย Valheim?

The maximum achievable health is 270. This is gained through eating Serpent stew, Lox meat pie, and Blood pudding. Not only will this bolster your health to a ridiculous 270, but it will grant you a health regeneration boost that will make you nearly unkillable. When paired with high-level armor, taking on dangerous biomes like the Mountains or Plains will become a cakewalk.

Valheim Maximum Health
By using Serpent stew, Lox meat pie, and Blood pudding, you can obtain 270 health.

How to unlock Serpent stew, Lox meat pie, and Blood pudding

The first piece of food required, Serpent stew, is relatively easy to get. You can gather the materials as soon as you have a boat. Head out, kill a Serpent, and then gather Honey (from Beehives) and Mushrooms from the Meadows.

The other two are a little more tricky to obtain. First, make sure you have defeated Moder and built a Windmill. Then, head to the Plains, and raid Fuling villages for their Barley. Take the Barley to your Windmill and process it into Barley flour.

For Lox meat pie, make sure to kill Lox in the Plains and gather their meat. As well, while you’re in the area, grab Cloudberries.

To make Blood pudding, head to the Swamps and farm Bloodbags from Leeches. You’ll also need Thistle from the Black Forest biome.

Maximize your efficiency

If you go after these items one-by-one, you’ll be spending a ton of time gathering resources. Try to grab these items as you go. You can easily carry Thistle and Cloudberries whenever you’re in their respective regions, so make sure to stack them while doing other tasks.

Whenever you see a Serpent while sailing, just stop and kill it. It might take a minute or two, but it will pay dividends down the road.
