Update 6.0 has arrived for Valorant, and here’s the complete list of changes and fixes added with this patch. The launch of Episode Six, Act One of the game, is accompanied by Patch 6.0, which includes various changes such as a new map, the return of a popular map, updates for competitive play, and more. Here’s everything new with Valorant update 6.0 and the patch notes.
Valorant 6.0 Update Patch Notes
New Map (Lotus)
Lotus, the new map in VALORANT, is set in the Western Ghats, India, and features three sites similar to Haven. It includes rotatable doors, destructible walls and doors, and silent drop ability. It will initially be available in the Swiftplay queue for a week before being added to the Competitive and Unrated rotations.
Split Map Changes and Rotation
Split, a returning map in Valorant 6.0 update, has undergone several changes, including widening the attacking area at A main and adding a small ledge. The A rafters area has been partially removed, and the ability to hold the high angle in the corner has been removed. The Mid platform can now be accessed by silently dropping down, and the “trick-jump” onto the Mid box has been removed. Additionally, the Defender side jump-up box has been removed in B Tower.
Agent Update (Omen)
Patch 6.0 adjust only agent Omen with a change to the Dark Cover ability. Dark Cover placed inside walls will now fall to the height of the nearest ground, which will significantly impact Omen’s smoke lineups and may decrease his power in high-level play. The ability to create one-way smokes with Dark Cover gave Omen an advantage over other smoke agents like Brimstone.
Competitive Updates
- With the new episode comes a rank reset. After your placement matches, expect a lower rank than the one you ended Episode Five with.
- Ranked Rating gains/losses will depend slightly more on wins and losses going forward and slightly less on the exact round differential.
- For players whose ranks are far from their MMR: RR gains will depend more on individual performance than round differential. You should also see your rank and MMR converge faster.
